An injection-molded plastic kit of a small two-legged machine in 1:35 scale from the Japanese brand Hasegawa. The MechatroWeGo range is among the science fiction series it has developed over the long term, and the individual numbers differ from one another in configuration and in color treatment. The model is assembled from sprues and is intended for gluing and painting; the exact contents of the package are stated on the box.
The MechatroWeGo is a fictional compact working machine: a two-legged chassis, a glazed cab for one person and handling equipment. The design comes rather from civil construction and industrial machinery than from combat mechs, and that is precisely why it comes across as believable. Its small bulk and simple shapes make it an ideal model for trying out painting methods and for combining with diorama bases. Collectors often build the range as a series in which every piece gets a different color treatment.
Before gluing, divide the build into subassemblies that you paint separately; it makes sense to finish the cab and the interior before it closes up. Bond the joints with a thin cement for plastic and sand the parting lines on the rounded surfaces carefully, because on simple shapes every trace shows. Build the base on a filler primer and build the glossy surface up in thin coats. Bring the engraved lines out with a thin washable solution. Chipped paint on the edges, footprints on the steps and a fine dusting of the lower part will turn a toy-like shape into a working machine. Fit the clear parts of the cab at the end and glue them with a cement for clear parts.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
