1:35 Messerschmitt Bf 109G-10 one-sided painting mask is a single-sided masking set for the glazing, die-cut for the kit from Border Model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The masking set is die-cut for the Messerschmitt Bf 109G-10 kit from the brand Border Model and deals with covering the cockpit glazing. The rendition is single-sided, so the masks cover the outer surfaces of the glazing. The double-sided version the manufacturer makes alongside it covers the inner side as well, so the frames can be painted from both sides.
The G-10 version came about at the close of the war as an attempt to get the maximum out of a proven airframe. It received a more powerful engine of the DB 605 series and a reworked engine cowling. Most machines had a lightened canopy with a large glazed area, which finally offered pilots a decent view to the rear. In its day it was among the fastest production single-engine fighters of German manufacture, but by then that had no influence on the outcome of the war.
First degrease the glazing and dry it. Lift the individual pieces with pointed tweezers or a toothpick with a moistened end and press them down with a blunt tool so that they seal all the way around. Apply the paint in several thin coats; a heavy coat would run under the edge. Take the masks off while the paint is still fresh.
It is an aid for painting, not a set of model parts.
