A set of photo-etched parts in 1:35 for a model of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 fighter. Metal sheet replaces detail that plastic cannot carry.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 is among the best-known fighters of the Second World War, and the G-6 was the most numerous version of the whole line. An inverted V12 DB 605 powered it, and above the engine it carried a pair of 13 mm machine guns, whose breeches called for conspicuous bulges on the engine cowling. It is by those that the G-6 is recognized at first glance, and modelers take them as the mark of the whole version.
Photo-etched parts in 1:35, that is in a larger scale than is usual for fighter aircraft. Photo-etching is made from thin metal sheet, which gives a part a realistic thickness even where a plastic equivalent would have to be many times thicker. The range of parts, their place on the model and the kit they are made for are given in the instructions supplied by the manufacturer.
Separate a part with a sharp blade pressed against a hard surface, not with nippers. Level the burr after separation with a fine file, so that the part sits on the surface along its whole edge. Make the bend in a bending tool or between the jaws of flat tweezers, and get it right the first time, as repeated bending tires the metal. Use cyanoacrylate glue for assembly, and only the slightest amount; cement for polystyrene will not join metal. Degrease the sheet before painting and apply a primer coat.
The kit, the paints and the glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
