1:35 Mini Shop in US Military Base (Vietnam War Era) is a diorama set of a little shop set up in a shipping container.
Responsibility details are not available.
This diorama set brings into 1:35 scale a small shop set up in a shipping container of the kind that appeared on American bases during the war in Vietnam. In the box there is the container with its interior equipment, a wall of sandbags and a tarpaulin, a fan, a chair, decals and two figures, a soldier and a dog.
Bases far from home set such stalls up so that the men had somewhere to buy a chilled drink, cigarettes or small items of daily need. They tended to be improvised, covered with advertising signs and lined with sandbags, which protected against shrapnel. It is precisely such a place that gives a scene with equipment its sense: it shows that between patrols there was living too. The dog by the door and the soldier leaning against the doorframe are the whole action a viewer needs in order to stop at the scene.
Let the container be bleached by the sun, that is lighten the base shade on the large areas and suggest the rust only at the edges and the rivets. The sandbags stand out when a thin brown glaze is drawn into the gaps and the tops are gone over with a dry light tone. Complete the surroundings with dust and a worn path, so that the structure does not stand in emptiness. Let the lettering from the decals crack in places or be partly covered with dirt, otherwise it looks freshly pasted up.
Paints, glue and a base are not enclosed.
