A set of modern machine guns in 1:35 scale from Dragon. It is not a vehicle model or a set of figures — it is an accessory armament set for adding weapons to vehicles, dioramas and figures.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is not a kit of a vehicle or an aircraft but an accessory weapons set in 1:35 scale from the so-called supply series by Dragon. The set holds a selection of the most widespread light and medium machine guns of the second half of the twentieth century: fourteen types, two of each, so twenty-eight machine guns in all. From American service the M60, the M60E3, the Stoner M23, the M249 SAW and the light machine gun version of the M16A2 are represented, and there are also weapons of British, French, German, Russian and Israeli origin. In addition, folded and deployed bipods are included for the weapons that use them, together with attached ammunition boxes and six ammunition belts. The set appeared in 1993 and to this day it remains one of the most used sources of modern infantry armament in this scale.
The weapons from this set come in useful wherever you want to replace the simplified armament from the basic kit or to fill empty mounts. They are typically used on the machine gun mounts of armored vehicles and trucks, in the hands of figures, on the turrets of fighting vehicles, on stands in a diorama, in interiors and as stowed material on tarpaulins and crates. Thanks to the range of types, the set covers the armament of several armies at once, so one package can serve more than one project.
The weapons are small and have fine barrels — cut them from the sprue with a sharp scalpel or with side cutters with a thin jaw and clean them up with a file. Glue with liquid cement for plastic. An acrylic black to very dark gray will do for painting; pure black looks flat, a dark base brought up by dry-brushing with graphite or a steel metallic on the edges works better. Wooden stocks, where they occur, can be refined with a brown glaze. The ammunition belts stand out in a brass color with a dark wash.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
