Voyager Model 1:35 M46 Patton — basic photo-etched set is an accessory for a plastic kit you already own, not a standalone model of the tank. The basic variant of the set brings metal parts for the most visible external details of the Takom 2117 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an aftermarket set of photo-etched metal from Voyager Model. It is not a kit of the vehicle but an accessory for the Takom 2117 plastic model. The basic set designation means that this is the starting scope of detailing from this manufacturer, that is an entry step for a modeler who does not want to reach straight for the most extensive variant. Check the exact contents of the fret on the box.
The M46 Patton was an American medium tank that came about by reworking the older M26 type: it received a new engine and transmission unit and revised armament with a 90 mm gun. The vehicle formed the transition between the designs of the end of the Second World War and the later family of tanks of the 1950s, and it was used above all in the Korean War. For the modeler it is a subject with pronounced sheet-metal features, mesh and small external equipment, that is with plenty of room for photo-etched parts.
With detail sets it pays to plan ahead. Before you start building the plastic hull, go through the photo-etched fret and note which plastic parts you will be replacing, because some of them have to be removed before the assemblies are glued together. Cut with a scalpel and sand the surface flat. Try the metal parts dry, bend them on the marked grooves and glue with cyanoacrylate in minute amounts; excess glue creates a shiny patch on metal that paint will only emphasize. Before spraying, degrease the photo-etched parts and prime them with a thin primer.
The package holds photo-etched metal parts only. You will not find the plastic kit, the glue or the paints in it.
