A photo-etched detail set from Voyager Model in 1:35 scale holding Combat Identification Panels (CIP) for the American HUMVEE light vehicle in Marine Corps fit. The set offers two variants, so you can choose the arrangement that matches your subject. It is not a kit of the vehicle but an accessory that mounts on the doors and the front hood.
Combat Identification Panels are panels mounted on American and allied ground vehicles to reduce the risk of being hit by friendly fire by setting the vehicle apart from the enemy in combat. On the HUMVEE the panels were fitted above all to the front doors, with a cut-out for the handle, and to the hood. They are therefore a typical mark of modern American vehicles on overseas missions.
Separate the photo-etched parts from the fret and clean up the edges. The panels have an offset shape, so use a bender or a steel ruler to bend them accurately. Bond them with super glue to the cleaned-up surface of the doors and the hood. Degrease the parts before painting, apply a base coat and paint the panels separately, because both their shade and their patina differ from the body of the vehicle.
The accessory does not hold the model itself, glue or paints. It is intended for completing a kit you already have.
