An injection-molded plastic kit of the NATO AIFV (Armoured Infantry Fighting Vehicle) in 1:35 scale from AFV Club. It is an unassembled and unpainted model of a tracked armored vehicle with a turret mounting a 25 mm cannon. The package contains plastic sprues, photo-etched parts and a decal; the box states the exact parts breakdown.
The AIFV is a tracked infantry fighting vehicle derived from the American M113 armored personnel carrier, substantially improved with heavier armor and a powered turret with a 25 mm automatic cannon. The vehicle carries an infantry squad under armor protection and gives it fire support. Its variants served with a number of NATO armies, among others under the designation YPR-765; some versions carried anti-tank guided missiles.
Assemble the running gear and the lower hull first, and only then close up the superstructure. Attach the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate. The turret with its cannon is the focal point of the model. The classic NATO three-color camouflage fits it well; a wash in the gaps and fine dust pigments on the running gear add a realistic finish, and a matte varnish unifies the whole thing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
