A photo-etched sheet with overall dimensions of 100x50 mm with a regular mesh; the dimension given in the name states the size of the opening. It is not a kit, nor a set for one particular kit, but a universal material from which you cut off the piece you need. Hauler is a Czech maker of photo-etched accessories.
Most often it replaces the grilles above the engine compartment and the intake covers, where molded plastic makes a disproportionately thick impression. It further suits baskets and stowage crates on equipment, headlight guards, fencing and fences in a diorama, sieves and filters in workshop scenes, and the improvised covers crews made for themselves in the field. Because the pattern is regular and precisely etched, it stands up even to a close look and to a photograph of the model.
Mesh is easy to cut, but it is also easy to deform. Cut it off with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface and handle the part with tweezers with smooth jaws, not with your fingers. If you want to shape a curve or a basket, shape the material in small steps over a cylindrical object, not by bending it in your hand. It is glued with super glue applied spot by spot to the frame or the edge of the opening, so that the openings stay open. A primer for metal and thin coats of paint are necessary before painting; mesh with clogged openings loses the whole effect it is bought for. Darken the space behind the mesh beforehand, or the ground will show through.
