A wall without windows is scenery; a window decides the period, the region and how prosperous the building is. This set offers three complete windows from 15 resin parts in all and film from which the panes are cut. The designation Set II refers to the second item of the series, so different types of opening can be combined on one building.
Cut the opening in the wall to the frame, not to a paper plan, and cut it slightly tighter. You can always fine-tune with a file, but material once taken away does not come back. The frame must not be flush with the outer face of the wall; on a masonry building it sets back by the thickness of the reveal, or the window looks stuck on. Suggest the jamb with a thin strip of plastic inserted all the way round.
Cut the film on a hard base with the protective layer left on both sides, because scratches arise most easily during handling. Glue it strictly with clear PVA glue applied with the tip of a toothpick into the corners of the frame. Super glue gives off a substance as it cures which settles on the surface of the film as a white veil and can no longer be removed. Insert the pane from behind and smaller than the opening, so that the glue does not run into the middle.
A perfectly clean pane looks empty. Dust it lightly from the outside with a very dilute grayish shade, leave a deposit on the lower edge, and by all means leave one pane cracked or broken out, with fragments lying below on the windowsill.
