An injection molded plastic kit of the medium tank Panzerkampfwagen V Panther in the Ausf. D version in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Revell. The model is intended to be assembled and painted by the modeler.
The Ausf. D was the first series-built version of the Panther. You can recognize it by the cylindrical commander's cupola, by the opening for the machine gun in the front plate of the hull solved as a hinged flap (not the ball mount of the later versions) and by the 7.5 cm caliber gun with a long barrel. Both the hull and the turret have steeply sloped armor plates, and the running gear consists of interleaved wheels on torsion bars. The vehicles tended to be fitted with sheet metal side skirts.
Work from the bottom up: first the running gear and the tracks, and only then close the hull up — the inner rows of interleaved wheels are hard to reach later. Glue the parts with liquid cement for polystyrene, fill the joints on the hull and sand them over. Before painting, apply a surfacer and spray the paint with an airbrush in thin coats. Prepare a gloss clear coat under the decals and flatten the surface again once it has dried. Build the weathering up gradually: a dark wash into the recesses, a dry brush on the edges and pigments on the running gear and the lower part of the hull.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
