The real subject

The Panther was a German medium tank of the Second World War that combined a powerful long-barreled 75 mm gun, sloped armor and good mobility. The Ausf.G version was the most widespread and the most mature in production terms; it brought reworked hull sides, revised hatches and a range of detail changes. Early and late production vehicles differed in details of the equipment, the exhaust stacks and the fittings. The Panther is one of the technically most interesting tanks of its day.

Building and painting tips

On a kit with an interior, first assemble and paint the inside of the hull, the engine compartment and the fighting compartment, and only then close the hull up; the hatches can be left open and the interior put on show. Paint the running gear and the tracks before finishing. Separate the parts with a cutter and glue them with thin cement for plastic. After the base coat with an airbrush, bring out the welds and the details with a wash and add dust and mud with pigments on the running gear; a camouflage finish is typical of the late vehicles.
