A set of photo-etched engine deck grilles for a model of the Panther Ausf. G tank in 1:35 scale. It replaces the solid plastic parts of the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Panther Ausf. G was the last mass-produced version of the German Panther medium tank and differed from earlier versions above all in the revised design of the hull side walls. The rear of the hull above the engine compartment was covered by grilles through which air flowed to the radiators. On the real vehicle this is open mesh through which the interior can be seen, whereas in a kit the same area is usually a solid plastic part with a suggested pattern.
Photo-etched grilles in 1:35 scale for a model of the Panther Ausf. G. The metal sheet is thin, so the openings are genuinely open and the engine deck stops looking like a solid plate. The parts list and the fitting procedure, including what has to be altered on the kit, are given in the maker's instructions.
Cut the parts out with a sharp blade on a hard surface and do not snap them off, because a bent grille is hard to straighten. Dose the super glue in tiny drops on the edge of the part; an excess would flood the openings and the whole effect would be gone. Paint the space under the grille black or a very dark color beforehand, otherwise the plastic will show through the openings and the depth will be lost. Degrease the metal before painting and lay down a primer. Settle the dust and spilled oil on the rear deck only at the end, because they look most natural right around the grilles.
The tank kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
