An accessory set with the German single-use Panzerfaust 60 anti-tank weapon in 1:35 scale. It is not a vehicle kit but a weapon on its own, as an accessory: in the hands of a figure, propped against a wall, stowed in a crate or dropped on the base of a diorama.
The Panzerfaust was a German single-use weapon from the end of the Second World War, made up of a thin launch tube and an over-caliber warhead fitted over its muzzle from outside. The version marked with the number 60 was produced from 1944, and the number in the designation matches the distance in meters the sights were set for; the earlier Panzerfaust 30 had sights for a shorter range and the later Panzerfaust 100 for a longer one. The weapon was notable for its simple construction, a folding sight with apertures and a warhead markedly wider than the tube, which is its most conspicuous recognition feature when building a model. It was carried in wooden crates and loose on vehicles as well.
The material of the package is not stated, so choose the glue according to what you find in the set: solvent glue for plastic, cyanoacrylate for resin and metal. Wash resin castings in warm water with detergent and cut the casting blocks off with a saw. The thin tube is fragile, so support it while cleaning up the seams. For color a single shade of dark yellow or red-brown is enough; pick out the folding sight and the warhead by lightly lightening the edges. A fine wash settles a shadow under the sight and where the warhead is fitted, and a final dust pigment ties the weapon in with the terrain.
The set is supplied unpainted and is not a model in its own right. Glue, paints, figures and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
