1:35 Printed Accessories: Wallpaper Nr.18 from RT-Diorama is a printed diorama accessory, not a kit. It serves to cover the walls of an interior at a size of 1:35 and is part of a numbered range of wallpapers in which every number corresponds to a different pattern. The interior is the discipline where the believability of a whole scene is decided: a figure in a living room with a bare wall looks as though it were in a garage, whereas the same figure against the background of a period pattern suddenly lives somewhere.
The pattern has to match the size of the figure - in 1:35 a figure measures around five centimeters, so even a fine ornament has to be reduced, or the wall comes across as a giant piece of cloth. Wallpaper in this scale is therefore printed with the usual height of a room in mind and suits the walls of rooms, corridors, staircases and the insides of box dioramas.
Try the area out dry first and only then trim it. It pays to start from the most visible corner and to hide a less successful division behind furniture, a door jamb or wreckage. The ground under the wallpaper has to be flat, or every unevenness will show. Finally unify the area with fine dirtying from the floor upward - in reality dirt collects near the ground and around handles.
