Quickwheel 1:35 - painting masks for the Pz. 38(t) and Marder III are self-adhesive masks for painting the road wheels, cut for Tamiya kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
Self-adhesive painting masks in 1:35 scale from Quickwheel, meant for painting the road wheels of the Pz. 38(t) light tank and the Marder III tank destroyer. The set is cut for kits from Tamiya - the target model is a crucial figure with masks of this kind, because the same vehicles are made by other manufacturers too and the diameters of the wheels differ. It is neither a model nor decals but an aid for painting.
The Pz. 38(t) was a light tank of Czechoslovak design with running gear on four large wheels with tires. A range of tank destroyers designated Marder III came about on its chassis, and they kept the running gear. The large wheels with their pronounced tires are among the most conspicuous features of the suspension, and because they repeat on both sides of a model, painting the transition between hub and tire by hand takes a lot of time and rarely comes out the same.
The procedure is simple: spray the shade of the tire, let it dry, stick the template on, go over it with the shade of the hub and take the mask off. Lay the paint on in thin coats, otherwise a step forms on the edge of the mask. Take the template off with tweezers at a shallow angle while the paint is freshly dry. Finish the running gear before the hull is closed up; mud and dust effects are then laid on the finished suspension with washes and pigments.
The set holds painting masks. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
