1:35 Pz.Kpfw III/IV tracks type 1 Late is a set of tracks in the late rendition of the first design for the German Panzer III and Panzer IV chassis, manufacturer PANZER ART.
Responsibility details are not available.
Replacement tracks for German tanks and self-propelled guns built on the chassis of the Panzer III and the Panzer IV. The manufacturer has divided the first design of link into an early and a late rendition and this item corresponds to the later one. Anyone building a particular vehicle from a period photograph will appreciate exactly such a distinction: the difference between the two renditions is seen on a finished model in the detail of the guide horn and in the surface of the link.
It replaces the tracks supplied in the base kit. Those tend to be either rubber and one-piece, or of hard plastic with the mold parting line exactly across the surface the viewer looks at. A cast replacement assembles into a whole that can be laid onto the rollers with a faithful bend, and the track then does not look like a taut strip, but like a heavy piece of iron resting under its own weight.
First assemble the running gear dry and count how many links fall on one wheel. Rinse the castings, rid them of flash and join them with cyanoacrylate glue in short stretches, which are easier to shape. Paint them separately and fit them only after the hull has been finished; create the metallic sheen on the contact surfaces with a hard pencil or with graphite, not with silver paint.
The set serves as a replacement for parts and does not form a model by itself.
