The abbreviation RMSh denotes a track with a rubber-bushed joint. The pin connecting adjacent links is seated in a rubber bush in it, so that metal does not rub against metal in the joint. Thanks to that, the track survives a considerably longer run and runs more quietly than the older form with an open joint. On Soviet vehicles you will meet it on the T-55, T-62 and T-72 tanks, on which older tracks were replaced by this type during service.
These are replacement tracks of the early type for models of the tanks mentioned in 1:35 scale. The early and the later type differ in the form of the link, so when choosing, go by the guise of the particular machine you are building, ideally according to a photograph of the real subject. The form of the set and the assembly procedure are given by the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little from the part and sand the remainder. Choose both the glue and the way of joining according to the manufacturer's directions in the instructions, because these differ from one track set to another. Before painting, wash and degrease the tracks, otherwise the coat will flake off when they are bent. The sag of the upper run of the track corresponds to the tension of the track on the particular machine, so check that on a photograph as well before you fit the track. When painting, start from a dark base, add shades of rust and dry earth and finally lighten the faces that rub against the road wheels and the ground slightly; it is precisely that contrast that makes a track a track.
