A resin wheel set in 1:35 scale for a model of the Canadian armored vehicle on the Chevrolet C15 chassis. The castings carry the tread of Dunlop tires. It is an accessory for a finished kit, not a kit in itself. Resin holds the sharp edges of the tread blocks and the lettering on the sidewall better than injection-molded plastic, so the swap tells on the overall impression of the vehicle.
The Canadian Chevrolet C15 series of military trucks formed one of the most widespread groups of Commonwealth vehicles of the Second World War. Besides the ordinary cargo versions, armored cars with an armored body for carrying troops and for reconnaissance were built on their chassis. They were used in North Africa, in Italy and in northwestern Europe, and their large off-road tires are among the most striking features of their look.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent and remove the mold release agent. Cut off the casting blocks with a saw, true the surface with a file and sand with respiratory protection. Resin is bonded with super glue, that is, with cyanoacrylate. Before fitting, check the diameter of the stub on the axle. You can sand the lower part of the tire into a flat for the impression of load. Leave the rubber in a dark gray tone and pick up dust in the tread from below.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
