An injection-molded plastic kit of the Russian BMD-2 airborne infantry fighting vehicle in 1:35 scale from Hobby Boss. The kit contains a split upper and lower hull, individual track links and photo-etched parts for fine detail. The model captures the characteristic small turret and the low, light hull that allows the vehicle to be dropped by parachute.
The BMD-2 is a Soviet, later Russian, tracked airborne infantry fighting vehicle that appeared in the late 1980s as a development of the earlier BMD. It is designed to be dropped by parachute, so it has a very light hull and a small turret. It serves with the airborne troops to support the infantry and to move quickly by air.
Finish and paint the running gear and the individual track links before you close the hull. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). For weathering, washes in the recesses and dust pigments on the running gear and the lower areas work well. Use a gloss coat before the decals and a matte one at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
