An injection-molded plastic model of the Russian BMP-3F amphibious infantry fighting vehicle in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. The model captures the naval F version intended for longer movement in water. The box contains a richly broken-up hull, turret and tracks; the box also contains clear parts and decals for the Russian army.
The BMP-3 is a Soviet and later Russian infantry fighting vehicle with strong armament in the form of a 100 mm weapon combined with a 30 mm cannon and a machine gun. The BMP-3F form is a modified amphibious version with improved buoyancy and seaworthiness, intended above all for naval infantry and operations from the sea. The vehicle can cross water obstacles under its own power and carries a squad of infantry.
With this vehicle it pays to assemble and paint the running gear, the wheels and the tracks before the hull is closed. Glue the plastic parts with thin modeling cement for plastic. With an amphibian, take care over a clean transition at the waterline if you are building it into a diorama with a water surface. Apply a primer before painting and spray the paint with an airbrush in thin coats; volume is added by picking out the edges, dark washes in the recesses and pigments for dust and mud effects on the chassis and the tracks.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
