The BTR-60P, the Soviet armored personnel carrier 1:35 (Trumpeter), is a plastic kit of the first of the family of Soviet eight-wheel carriers, in the open version.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter captures the Soviet BTR-60P eight-wheel armored personnel carrier in its original open version without an armored roof. The kit contains parts on several sprues, photo-etched parts, clear parts and rubber tires. The model builds the hull, the drivetrain and the characteristic 8x8 chassis faithfully.
The BTR-60 was the first of the family of Soviet eight-wheel armored personnel carriers, developed at the end of the 1950s as a replacement for the older BTR-152. It was taken into service in 1959 and built in the first half of the 1960s. The BTR-60P version, where the letter P denotes the open body, had no armored roof, so the crew and the troops were uncovered from above. The vehicle could swim and was powered by a pair of gasoline engines.
First assemble the chassis and the drivetrain, then the hull; bond the rubber tires with cyanoacrylate glue. Use thin modeling cement on the plastic and glue the clear parts with cement for clear parts so that they do not fog. Spray the surface with a primer and apply the paints with an airbrush. The open interior is worth painting before it is closed up; you suggest dust and mud on the chassis with washes and pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
