A resin set of wheels for the Russian K-4386 Typhoon-VDV armored vehicle in 1:35 scale, the first variant with the Michelin tire tread pattern and with flattening from the load.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an accessory for a kit, not a model of the vehicle. The manufacturer DEF Model supplies wheels for this type in two variants according to the pattern of the tire, and this is the variant with the Michelin tread pattern. The difference is not cosmetic: the pattern of the tread is clearly readable on a model and determines whether the vehicle as built matches one particular photographed machine or not. The tires are cast in the sagged form, that is flattened at the contact patch.
The K-4386 Typhoon-VDV is a Russian armored vehicle with drive to all four wheels, developed for airborne units. It puts the emphasis on resistance to a blast under the hull and on a low weight allowing transport by air. The vehicle occurs in several versions differing in armament and body, but the large-diameter wheels are a shared and conspicuous feature.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with a detergent because of the release agent from the mold, cut the casting blocks off and level the surface. Glue with cyanoacrylate, not with cement for plastic, and apply a primer before painting. The Michelin tread pattern has pronounced blocks, so it pays to paint it in two steps: a darker base and then a light dry brush in a lighter gray shade over the edges of the blocks. Add dust or mud into the grooves according to the setting the model stands in. Set the hub apart from the rubber, as otherwise the wheel merges into one mass.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without a kit of the vehicle. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
