1:35 Russian Pantsir-S1 missile system is an extensive plastic model kit of the modern Pantsir-S1 air-defense system from Tiger Model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This plastic kit from Tiger Model captures the modern self-propelled Pantsir-S1 air-defense system on a heavy wheeled chassis. It is a large model with an intricate superstructure that stands out for its size and technical appearance even among other models in 1:35 scale.
The Pantsir-S1 is an air-defense system that combines surface-to-air guided missiles with a pair of 30 mm rapid-fire cannons on a single rotating turret. They are supplemented by a radar for searching and tracking targets and an electro-optical channel for guidance in difficult conditions. The system is intended for short-range protection of units and fixed installations, that is against aircraft, helicopters, unmanned vehicles and precision-guided munitions. The basis is a heavy wheeled chassis with high cross-country mobility; in export versions the system also appears on other chassis types and in a transportable form without a vehicle of its own.
Divide the model into the chassis with its wheels, the cab and the rotating turret with the missile containers and the gun armament. Assemble the axles according to the instructions on a flat surface so that every wheel touches down, and paint the tires separately before fitting them. The missile containers and the radar panels are best painted separately and fitted at the very end. Modern hardware tends to be well maintained, so treat wear sparingly: a fine emphasis of the panels, slight lightening of the large surfaces to suggest volume and light dust on the wheels and the lower part of the vehicle are enough. Heavy rust and scuffed paint would not look credible on this type.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
