The PANZER ART 1:35 Sand Armor for SPG is resin improvised sandbag armor for a self-propelled gun, not a model of the vehicle in its own right.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin accessory in 1:35 scale from PANZER ART. It represents improvised protective sandbag armor of the kind crews added to the hulls and superstructures of self-propelled guns (SPG) to raise their protection. This is not a model of the vehicle but a set of parts with a realistically rendered texture of packed bags.
Sandbags were a common field fitting on armor during the Second World War and later. Crews packed them around the front armor and the superstructure to raise resistance to splinters and shaped-charge munitions. The arrangement differed from unit to unit and from front to front.
Wash the resin parts free of release agent, cut off the casting blocks and sand them lightly with respiratory protection. Glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Prime the bags in sand and khaki shades, draw them out with washes and a dry brush and dust them with pigments for field wear.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
