1:35 Sandbags base is a Black Dog scenic ground with a position built of sandbags, prepared for models and figures in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The ground from Black Dog captures a position built up out of bags filled with sand. It serves as a scenic base for figures or small hardware in 1:35 scale and is supplied already shaped, so the laborious assembly of individual bags out of putty falls away.
A sandbag position is a timeless motif. It appears in displays from both world wars just as it does in much more recent subjects, because the way it is built has hardly changed in a hundred years. For a modeler that is an advantage, as one ground will serve several different periods of a collection according to how you paint it and which figures you stand on it.
The commonest mistake is giving all the bags the same color. A real position is made up of material of differing age, so retone the base shade once it has dried, to make every bag look different. A very fine dry brush drawn across supports the coarseness of the fabric by catching the texture of the surface. Apply a dark flowing shade into the folds between the bags and dust the bottom row with soil, so that the position grows into the terrain.
Neither the paints nor the figures you will place in the position are sold with these goods.
