A diorama breaks on the small things that do not agree with one another. A vehicle in flawless condition in the middle of a shot-up little town looks as though it were cut from a different photograph, and the same holds the other way round. That is just why collapsed tires are worth choosing with thought: once a car has settled onto its wheels toward the ground, everything around it has to match, from the tracks in the dust to the position of the hatches.
The set brings the late shape of the Sd.Kfz 222 and the tread profile numbered two. The rubber is modeled fully deflated, so it slumps over the rim and pronounced folds form in the wall. This state differs substantially from mere pressing down under the weight of the machine, which is why both shapes exist side by side as separate items.
Four wheels for the axles and one spare match the figure in the name. It is prepared for the Tamiya kit, whose parts in this size are well known among modelers.
The wheel of a German light armored car measured in reality around ninety centimeters, so in this scale it comes to about twenty-five millimeters. The difference between a round part from a mold and a collapsed tire is therefore easy to see on a model and worth that little extra work.
The subject remains a four-wheeled reconnaissance machine with an open many-sided turret, over which a wire frame folded down against grenades. That feature makes the silhouette of the vehicle unmistakable and draws attention enough that a viewer looks straight afterward at what the model stands on.
