A resin set of front wheels in 1:35 scale for a model of the German Sd.Kfz. 9 heavy half-track tractor. The castings carry the tread pattern of Continental tires in the version the manufacturer marks with the number one. It is an accessory for a finished kit, not a kit. The front wheels of a half-track sit exposed at the front, so the replacement shows immediately.
The Sd.Kfz. 9 was the largest German half-track tractor of the Second World War. It towed heavy guns, recovered stranded vehicles and, coupled in a train, could even drag away a damaged tank. At the front it had a steered axle on pneumatic tires and at the rear a long tracked running gear. It is precisely this combination of wheels and tracks that gives the vehicle its characteristic silhouette, and the front wheels cannot be left out of it.
Wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water and remove the mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw, level the surface with a file and do the sanding with respiratory protection. Resin is bonded with super glue, that is cyanoacrylate. Check the diameter of the stub axle before fitting. The bottom of the tire can be sanded lightly into a flat spot, because the vehicle is heavy and the tire would not stay perfectly round under it.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
