A resin set of precisely cast steered front wheels with tires in the Continental tread pattern (version No. 2) for models of the Sd.Kfz 9 FAMO heavy half-track tractor in 1:35 scale. It replaces the plastic front wheels with castings that have a faithful tread, sidewall and rim. It is an aftermarket accessory for more experienced modelers.
The Sd.Kfz 9 FAMO was the heaviest German half-track tractor, used for recovery and for moving heavy equipment. The front axle is steered and stands on pneumatic tires, and that is the axle this set covers; under the weight of the vehicle the contact patch naturally flattens slightly. The tracked running gear at the rear is a separate assembly. The Continental tread refers to a period pattern of tire.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin castings with warm soapy water. Cut off the casting blocks with a saw or a knife and clean up the surfaces; sand with respiratory protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint the tire dark gray and the rim to match the subject; add dust and mud with pigments at the end.
The set contains resin parts and is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
