A plastic kit of the German super-heavy tank destroyer Jagdtiger in the version with the Henschel running gear. The model from the maker Dragon offers rich detail including photo-etched parts, a metal barrel and a cable; the decals allow several marking variants.
The Jagdtiger was the heaviest armored fighting vehicle put into series service in the Second World War. On the lengthened chassis of the Tiger II tank it carried a massive 12.8 cm gun in a fixed armored superstructure, and its extremely thick frontal armor made it almost invulnerable to fire from the front. Only a few dozen were built; the great weight brought unreliability and limited mobility. Most of the vehicles used running gear of the Henschel design.
Assemble and weather the running gear and the lower hull before the superstructure is finished. Degrease the massive barrel and, when painting, bring out a fine gradation of shades. The extensive armor surfaces are rewarding for color modulation, washes and filters; finish the dust and mud with pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
