An injection-molded plastic kit from Zvezda in 1:35 scale, capturing the German medium half-track Sd.Kfz.251 in the B version as a communications (radio) vehicle, the /3 variant (mittlerer Funkpanzerwagen). The exact number of parts and decal schemes is not stated here as certain; the binding source is the instructions in the package.
The Sd.Kfz.251, known as the Hanomag, was the most widespread German medium half-track of the Second World War. The /3 mittlerer Funkpanzerwagen version was a communications vehicle: it carried radio sets and conspicuous antenna equipment (rod, frame or star antennas, according to the particular subversion) and served as a mobile communications post for the command of armored and mechanized units. The Ausf.B rendition belongs to the earlier production versions, with split vision ports and different details of the hull compared with the later C and D. This is communications equipment for the command rear.
Assemble and paint the interior with the radio equipment before you close the hull: on a communications vehicle the inside is on view. Glue the antennas with super glue and handle them carefully. Apply a primer and then the base shade with an airbrush. Accentuate the rivets and edges with a dry brush, apply dark washes into the pressings and dust or mud pigments onto the tracks and the underside.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
