A service drive-up ramp in 1:35 scale for workshop and repair scenes.
Responsibility details are not available.
A drive-up ramp belongs to the equipment of workshops, repair shops and recovery points. A vehicle drives onto it and stays raised, so that there is room to work under it, or else it drives over it onto a bed or onto a lowboy semi-trailer. In a scene the ramp therefore explains at once what is going on around it: it is not a vehicle in movement but a vehicle under repair or being loaded.
The ramp works well as the center of gravity of a smaller vignette. Tools, barrels, crates and figures of mechanics can be laid out around it, so that even a single model of a vehicle makes a view with a story. Before gluing, try the layout dry and check that the slope of the ramp matches the ground clearance of the vehicle you want to stand on it.
Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the area with fine sandpaper. Before painting, wash and degrease the parts. The wooden parts come into their own when thin washes of brown and gray paint are applied over a light base in the direction of the grain; build the metal parts on a dark base and go over the edges by drybrushing with a steel shade. At the end a little mud and dust in the places where the wheels drive up comes in handy. The particular procedure for gluing and painting is to be found in the manufacturer's instructions.
The ramp suits builders of dioramas in 1:35 scale who want to show equipment under repair or being loaded. Paints, glue and a model of a vehicle are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
