A resin wheel set from the Ukrainian brand Armory, the manufacturer's part number ARAW35302. An accessory for a model, not a helicopter kit. The tires are cast with a flattening at the contact patch and in the large 1:35 scale it shows at once on a standing helicopter, because the landing gear is not retracted here and is permanently in view, unlike on an airplane. Resin holds a sharper tread and hub detail than injection-molded plastic.
The SH-60 Seahawk is a shipboard derivative of the army UH-60 Black Hawk for the US Navy. It handles combat against submarines and surface targets, search and rescue, vertical replenishment and the evacuation of the wounded. For operation from ships it received folding main rotor blades and a folding tail so that it takes up as little deck space as possible. The change to the landing gear matters too: on the SH-60B version the tailwheel landing gear moved 13 feet, that is almost four meters, forward, precisely so that the machine takes up less room on deck. That is what tells a Seahawk from a Black Hawk at first glance.
Wash the castings free of mold release agent, cut the casting blocks off and level the mating surfaces; protect your breathing when sanding resin. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue and always apply a primer coat. Naval machines carry more salt and grease on their wheels and struts than land-based ones, so a light dusting on the hub and a darker greasy trace near the brake are worth doing.
