The set belongs to a series of small weapon accessories in 1:35 scale which the manufacturer divides into several numbered volumes. This one is marked as the second set. The contents are miniatures of small arms cast in a mold, intended for figures, for vehicle interiors or for the open area of a diorama scene.
The weapons supplied with figure sets tend to be simplified and often have a pronounced parting line in the places where it is hardest to remove, on the barrel or on the stock. A separate accessory solves this problem: the casting is finer and the detail stands up even to a close look, which is what decides with dioramas. At the same time you can put a weapon into a scene on its own, as an object leaning or set down.
Separate the parts from the casting blocks with a fine-toothed saw; nippers would break them. Scrape any parting line around the circumference off with a scalpel drawn flat and sand it over lightly. Then wash everything in warm water with detergent so that no mold release agent is left on the surface. Sand damp and with respiratory protection. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, so test the position dry in advance.
The basis is a thin primer. Metal parts will stand out with a dark shade and gentle burnishing with graphite or a light dry brush on the edges; wooden parts are done with an underlying brown tone and a glaze. Finally even it out with matte clear coat and add only a discreet patina, as a small object is easily overpainted.
This is an accessory, not a kit. Figures, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
