An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet DShK heavy machine gun with its crew in 1:35 scale from Zvezda. The box holds the machine gun itself on a tripod (mount) and four crew figures in action poses working the weapon. An armor shield, transport wheels and a clear sight are included as well.
The DShK (Degtyarev-Shpagin, 12.7 mm caliber) was a Soviet heavy machine gun introduced in the 1930s and committed on a massive scale in the Second World War. It served as an anti-aircraft as well as a ground support weapon, on a wheeled mount with a shield as well as on a tripod. It was notable for its high penetrating power and its reliability.
Paint the metal parts of the weapon with a dark steel color and pick them out with dry brushing for the impression of metallic sheen. On the figures, work with the shades of the uniforms and the skin and finish the faces with glazes and washes. The group comes into its own in a diorama; add a base, ammunition belts and terrain detail.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
