A resin figure in 1:35 from the PANZER ART brand. Unlike multi-part sets this is a single figure that you add exactly where a scene needs it — at a hatch, on a fender, beside the hull.
The one-piece overall is what defines it. It was pulled on over a uniform, so it has a looser cut, gathers at the waist and at the ankles and forms long, soft folds with no sharp edges. That is a different kind of fabric from a stiff uniform and it calls for a different approach to painting: fewer hard contrasts, more continuous transitions. An overall is usually painted in one subdued shade, most often in a dark blue-gray or a khaki position; the particular choice is yours, as the name of the item does not give it. It is exactly the uniform surface with no camouflage pattern that makes this figure good practice in shading — the whole impression rests on how you handle the folds.
Wash the figure before painting in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap, to get rid of the mold release agent. Cut the casting block off with a saw or a disc, not with nippers — resin tears when nipped. Do the sanding wet and with breathing protection. Glue the joints with cyanoacrylate glue and fill them. After the primer, proceed from a mid layer: lighten the tops of the folds, let a dark glaze run into the recesses and blend the transitions, ideally with oil paints, which give time for a soft blend. Build the skin in three tones and leave it a little less saturated than seems right — in 1:35 color grows optically stronger. At the end a matte clear coat and fine dust with pigment on the footwear.
