The second part of the range on the Soviet and Russian naval infantry, this time focused on wheeled and amphibious vehicles. The name gives the BTR-60PB, BTR-70, BRDM-2, the form with the Konkurs anti-tank missile system and the PTS-M carrier. This is a set of markings for a finished model.
While the tanks made up the striking core, movement and reconnaissance were provided by precisely this group of machines. The wheeled BTR-60PB and BTR-70 carriers carried the infantry and were capable of swimming; the BRDM-2 reconnaissance vehicle served for a quick survey of the terrain and, in the version with the anti-tank missile system, for fighting armored targets as well. The PTS-M is an entirely different category beside them, a tracked amphibious carrier for taking cargo and equipment across a water obstacle. For a modeler it is a set that will serve more than one different build at once.
The sides of wheeled carriers are long but far from flat; they are interrupted by hatches, firing ports, covers and broken edges. Before you start, then, go over the model and find the longest continuous area without an interruption, because that is where the markings will settle best. With vehicles capable of swimming, bear in mind too that the lower part of the body will look different after weathering than on a purely ground machine, so place the decals higher rather than lower. Apply the matte varnish only once everything is completely dry.
