A photo-etched sheet with overall dimensions of 100x50 mm, on which there are strips in several widths from 0.6 to 1.1 mm with etched imitations of nuts and bolts. It is not a kit, nor a set tailored to one particular model, but a universal modeling material from which you cut off exactly the piece you need. Hauler is a Czech maker of photo-etched accessories.
Most often they replace details that cannot be molded in plastic or that look coarse: bolted and riveted joints on armor, the securing straps of tanks, flanges, the rims of hatches, brackets and mounting feet. The second great use is repair: after seams have been sanded, a whole series of rivets is lost from a model, and a strip is the quickest way of returning an area to its original form. The third is building parts to your own drawings, where the strips come into their own as a ready ground.
Cut the strips off with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface; scissors deform photo-etch and the nuts get crushed. Degrease both the surface and the photo-etch before gluing. It is glued with super glue; the gel is easier to position with, while the thin kind is drawn in by capillary action once the part is in place. Shaping can be managed by a bender or by two razor blades clamped in jaws; stiffer material can be annealed briefly over a flame so that it softens, but only in passing and with your hands protected. A primer for metal is necessary before painting, because bare photo-etch will not hold paint and rubs off while handled.
