DEF Model 1:35 T-34 — external stove and engine deck grille is a photo-etched detail set, not a kit. It adds the characteristic add-on stove and a fine grille to the Soviet tank, as the photographs from the Eastern Front show them. It is prepared for the T-34 kits from Academy and Dragon.

This product is not a tank model but a photo-etched detail set for 1:35 scale from the maker DEF Model. It combines photo-etched parts, a resin piece and thin brass wire from which you build the external stove mounted on the rear of the tank and a fine grille, or rather a slot, on the engine deck. It is a typical detail of Soviet T-34s on the Eastern Front, where the crews added external heating and reworked the engine venting. The parts are designed for the T-34 plastic kits from Academy and Dragon in 1:35 scale.
The T-34 was a Soviet medium tank of the Second World War, valued for its armor, its mobility across country and its simple production. In the harsh conditions of the Eastern Front the machines acquired all kinds of improvised and standard improvements. Exactly such external stoves and grille modifications are among the details that turn an ordinary model into a particular, weather-beaten machine with a story.
Bend the photo-etched parts on a bender or over a sharp edge and join them with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or by soldering. Wash the resin piece to remove mold release. It pays to spray the assembly with a primer and bring it out with a wash and pigments — a stove looks rewarding with traces of soot and rust. The set is intended for the widespread T-34 kits in 1:35 scale from several makers.
It is an accessory for a model, not the model itself. The base T-34 kit from Academy or Dragon, paints and glue are not included in the package.
