A photo-etched detail set in 1:35 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. It contains fine brass grilles and covers for the engine and cooling compartment of the Soviet T-55 medium tank. The pierced structure of the grilles, which plastic parts cannot capture faithfully, gives the rear of the tank realistic depth. Neither the model nor the base kit is included in the package.
The T-55 is a Soviet medium tank that followed on from the T-54 type and became one of the most widespread tanks in history. It served from the 1950s in the armies of the whole Eastern Bloc and of many other countries and saw combat in dozens of conflicts. The grilles over the engine and the radiators are among its characteristic features.
Separate the fine grilles with a sharp knife and set them onto cleaned-up areas of the engine deck. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Degrease the metal before painting and apply a primer; a dark wash and dry-brushing help to bring out the pierced structure.
This is an accessory photo-etched set, not a model. The base kit, glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
