This is an accessory, a precisely turned metal replacement barrel in 1:35 scale, not a tank model. It replaces the plastic barrel from a boxed kit with a faithful metal part with a sharp, perfectly round muzzle and the correct geometry.

What the part is for

The barrel matches the 40 mm gun of the Hungarian Toldi light tanks in the Toldi II (B40) and Toldi III (C40) versions. Turned metal gives the barrel a perfectly straight profile without the mold seams that form along the lengthwise axis on plastic parts, and it offers a precisely drilled muzzle.

Building tips

It is worth degreasing the metal part and gluing it with super glue (cyanoacrylate), or with a two-part adhesive for a firmer joint. Before applying paint, use a primer suitable for metal so that the paint adheres well. The muzzle can be picked out with a dark shade for the impression of a worn bore.
