A resin upgrade set in 1:35 from the manufacturer Black Dog, with photo-etched parts added. It is NOT a model of the tank but an add-on that puts the Trophy active protection system onto a finished model of the Israeli Merkava Mk.IV tank: the side modules with their sensors and launcher heads and the rear stowage basket. The set changes the silhouette of the vehicle into the shape of the modern deployed machines.
The Merkava Mk.IV is the main battle tank of the Israel Defense Forces, with its characteristic front-mounted engine layout. The Trophy system (in Hebrew Meil Ruach) is an active protection system that detects incoming anti-tank missiles by radar and destroys them with a short counter-shot. Tanks with Trophy are standard in Israeli units today.
Wash the mold release residue off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and dry-fit them to the model. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); the photo-etched parts can also be soldered. Wear respiratory protection while sanding. Paint the system and the basket in a shade matched to the hull, and bring out the surfaces that catch dirt with a wash and pigments for dusty weathering.
It is supplied as an unpainted resin upgrade set with photo-etched parts. The model of the tank itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
