A photo-etched detail set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard aimed at the external surface of a plastic model of the UH-1C helicopter in 1:35 scale. This is not a helicopter kit, but an aftermarket accessory with fine metal parts that give the fuselage, the covers and the small fittings a realistic thickness and texture.
The Bell UH-1C is the gunship version of the famous Huey of the Iroquois family. It made its name in the Vietnam War in the fire support role. A number of exposed external features such as grilles, access steps, covers and tie-downs gain a scale-correct fineness with etched parts that plastic cannot offer.
Nip the parts from the fret, clean them up and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate); larger areas can also be soldered. Make the bends over a sharp edge or in a photo-etch bending tool. Degrease the surface before painting and pick up the small elements with tweezers.
This is an accessory, not a model. The helicopter kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
