A machine gunner at a Browning M2 heavy machine gun - a Ukrainian soldier as a resin figure in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The figure captures a soldier serving a heavy machine gun of 12.7 mm caliber. According to the name the box holds a single figure in 1:35, that is in the size usual with kits of armored and cargo vehicles. The goods are supplied by the Ukrainian brand Spalah, whose range concentrates on present-day figures and accessories.
The Browning M2 is an American heavy machine gun of 12.7 mm caliber introduced as far back as the interwar period and in use to this day. It is mounted on a tripod as well as on vehicle mounts, and its gunner tends to be exposed, because he has to see over the edge of the hull or over the sandbags. It is precisely such a placing that makes the figure a rewarding element: it gives the vehicle scale, a direction of gaze and, in a diorama, a reason why the other figures are looking one way.
Matching matters more here than with a figure on its own: tune the shades of the uniform so that they sit with the color of the vehicle the figure stands on. It works well to finish both parts of the scene in parallel and to do the final dusting with the same paints. Set the leather and the textile parts apart by the degree of sheen, not by shade alone. The hands and gloves on the grips of the weapon deserve highlighting of their own.
The figure is sold unpainted, with no paints and glue in the box.
