An injection-molded plastic kit of the famous American 2.5 ton cargo truck with 6x6 drive in 1:35 scale from Tamiya. The model captures the iconic vehicle nicknamed the Deuce and a Half, which became a symbol of American logistics in the Second World War. According to the manufacturer it contains a detailed chassis, an engine and a broken-up interior of the cab and the cargo bed.
The American 2.5 ton 6x6 cargo truck, typically the GMC CCKW family, was the backbone of supply for the Allied armies. Over 800000 were built and, together with the Sherman tank and the Jeep, it is usually counted among the equipment that decided the Allied victory. The trucks carried men, ammunition and material, served as a chassis for the most varied bodies and became famous for their service in the Red Ball Express supply convoy after the landings in Normandy.
Work with thin cement for plastic and proceed in subassemblies. Finish and paint the chassis, the engine and the cab interior before assembling the whole. Apply a primer before painting and put the paints on with an airbrush. You bring the bed tarpaulin and the wooden parts to life with a dry brush and complete the weathering with dust and mud pigments on the wheels and the chassis.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
