American war posters 1:35 from the Italian brand Royal Model. A printed paper sheet from which you cut out period motifs for dioramas of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Italian brand Royal Model is a print on paper: a sheet with reproductions of the posters that during the Second World War hung on American streets, in the halls of arms plants and outside recruiting centers. It is not a kit or a decal; the motifs are cut out by hand and attached to a wall, a fence or an advertising column in a scene.
In a diorama a printed surface works as an instant indicator of place and period. The viewer recognizes the country, the year and the mood before examining the vehicles. Paper also takes aging better than plastic: the corners can be torn, the surface rubbed with a weak brew of tea and the edges dusted with pigment. It is also worth trying to glue the motif on at an angle or partly peeling off, because a perfectly straight notice on a wall looks unnatural.
War graphics in the United States were directed from one place and aimed above all at the home front. They urged people to subscribe to war bonds, to work in the arms industry and to hand in scrap metal; a separate branch consisted of warnings against careless talk about troop movements. Both the collection of materials and recruitment took place in every American town, so this accessory belongs in scenes deep in the rear as well.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted; you obtain the glue separately.
