A decal sheet in 1:35 scale with markings for additionally armored American trucks from Vietnam, among others for the machines nicknamed MR NICE, MALFUNCTION and OTTO.
Responsibility details are not available.
Supply convoys in Vietnam drove roads where ambush threatened, and the crews therefore took their defense into their own hands. Ordinary trucks were given additional armor of steel plate and sandbags in field workshops, and armament on the bed to go with it. Machines like these differed from each other conspicuously, because each one came about in a different place and in a different way, and the crews gave them names of their own, which they painted on the side. Those are the most rewarding detail of the whole chapter for a modeler.
The sheet carries markings and lettering for particular vehicles, among them the machines nicknamed MR NICE, MALFUNCTION and OTTO. The printing is in 1:35 scale, that is for the most common size of kits of ground hardware.
On the real subject the lettering was painted on the vertical faces of the armor, so reckon with an element having to seat on an area with rivets and edges. Paint the model first and give it a coat of gloss varnish, and separate the elements with a sharp blade close to the print. Check the application procedure in the instructions enclosed with the sheet and use a decal softener only where the instructions allow it. Lay the dust and mud on only over dried and varnished markings, otherwise they will be rubbed away.
The set is for modelers who build American hardware from Vietnam and want to match a model to a particular vehicle with a name of its own. This is a decal sheet; the kit of the vehicle, the paints and the glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
