This is an accessory set, not a vehicle model. A balloon tire is a wide, low-pressure tire that does not sink into soft ground, because it spreads the weight of the vehicle over a larger area. That is exactly why it was fitted to cars used in sand and snow, where an ordinary narrow tire brought a vehicle to a halt after a few meters. On a model it is a very striking change: balloon tires alter the silhouette of the car more than most other accessories and say at once where the vehicle served. The designation in brackets after the name refers to the tire maker and therefore to a particular tread pattern.
The VW Kübelwagen was a German light off-road car derived from the civilian type, with an air-cooled four-cylinder engine mounted at the rear. It had no all-wheel drive and yet it held up well across country, because it was very light and had enough ground clearance. It was used everywhere from North Africa to the Eastern Front.
The set is for modelers of German vehicles who are building a desert or winter subject. Working with resin is not difficult, but it differs from plastic.
