1:35 Waffen-SS MG-42 team set is a resin multi-figure set from the PANZER ART brand in 1:35, made as an add-on for a diorama or for a vehicle kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a resin set of figures in 1:35 from the figure line of the maker PANZER ART. The figures are modeled as the crew of an MG-42 machine gun, and the uniforms carry Waffen-SS marking. The set serves as an add-on to plastic vehicle models and to dioramas; it is not a vehicle kit.
Resin figures are made by casting into a silicone mold, so they hold a sharper rendering of the folds of the clothing, the equipment and the face than injection-molded plastic. The figures tend to be split into a torso, a head and arms, so that they can be cast without undercuts; the parting lines as a rule run in places that will be hidden under a collar, a belt or equipment once glued. The material is hard and brittle and does not glue with ordinary cement for polystyrene.
Wash the parts first in lukewarm water with dish soap, so that the remains of mold release agent disappear, or the paint will not hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a knife; do not snap them. Sand the remainder down with your airways protected, as resin dust must not be breathed in. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue, with filler at the larger gaps. Apply a primer before painting. Build the clothing from a base tone, bring the edges of the folds out with a dry brush and let a darker wash into the recesses. Paint a camouflage pattern, if the casting carries one, in layers: the base, larger blotches and finally fine grains, always subdued, so that the drawing does not break up optically in 1:35. The face and the hands are best finished with oil paints, for the sake of soft transitions. Knock the finished figure back with a matte clear coat and leave the gloss only on the leather of the straps and on the metal parts of the weapon.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
