The set contains photo-etched metal parts from the manufacturer Eduard intended for detailing a model of the American three-quarter-ton WC-51 vehicle in 1:35 scale. It is an accessory, not a standalone kit. Photo-etched parts add the fine elements that cannot be faithfully produced from injected plastic: mesh screens, grab handles, brackets, sheet metal stiffeners and the small fittings of the body.
The Dodge WC-51 was a light four-wheel-drive field car classed as a weapons carrier. During the Second World War it served the Allied armies for carrying troops, towing light guns and as a general purpose transporter. The vehicles of the WC series became famous for their reliability and simple maintenance in field conditions.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife on a surface and form the bends with a photo-etch bending tool or a thin razor blade. Bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate); larger surfaces can be fixed with an epoxy. Degrease the metal surfaces before spraying and treat them with a primer so that the paint holds well. Washes and pigments for dust and mud effects suit a finished model.
